Carmilla and Laura: My Gothic Ballroom

This here is a lovely picture of Carmilla Karnstein and Laura from Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu's novella Carmilla dancing together in love. Carmilla and Laura's dresses are custom-made, with Carmilla's being more Gothic and Laura's taking up the qualities of a wedding dress. The cat is based on the black cat in one of Laura's dreams in the novella. I tried to focus on having more detail in Carmilla and Laura than in the ballroom around them to create a more contrasting focal point on the girls.
I've recently been drawing a lot of lesbian artwork that's all pretty dirty, and it has left me not feeling good about it, and so I tried to make something more meaningful between two girls this time with what I know (even if it's still a little suggestive, but it gives it style).
